Saucijzenbroodje (or sausage bread) is one of Dutch favourite snacks. I cooked these snacks for breakfast today after dreaming of them in the past few days. However, people usually enjoy them as snacks for picnic or any family occasion. Sweet ground beef filling blends with the savoury and crunchy puff pastry skin in one bite.

1 pack puff pastry (5pcs), 1 egg (loosely beaten)

500 gr ground beef
1 eggs
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 chopped onion, saute until fragrant
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp corn flour
chopped parsley
salt & pepper

1. For the filling, mix all ingredients well.
2. Cut the puff pastry lengthwise (or shape it as you like) and put the filling mix in the middle and brush each side with egg. Fold the pastry and close every side properly.
3. Make two cuts on top of the pastry (as showed on the picture) and brush them with egg before placing the baking tray in the oven. Bake them for approx.20 minutes with 180 degree or until golden brown.
